Developed by Israeli physicist Dr. Moshé Feldenkrais, this movement process is used to increase the patient’s awareness of how they use their body. By improving their sense of self-awareness patients will learn to reduce movement-related pain, and enhance their everyday activities, postures and overall sense of well being. Feldenkrais™ is also an excellent study for athletes who wish to broaden their range of motion.
In our Feldenkrais: Awareness Through Movement classes, practitioners direct patients to perform various movements in order to help them gain a more accurate and complete perception of the body and how it functions effortlessly with proper use. Once the patient achieves the desired level of comfort, they can re-program their bodies to maintain it. Each class is as unique as its participants.
